Game Animal Council seeks nominations

January 26, 2023 by Hamish Barwick

The Minister of Conservation is seeking nominations for three to five upcoming vacancies on the Game Animal Council. The Council encourages hunters and all those interested in the management of New Zealand’s game animals to consider applying.

Currently, it has 10 Councillors who provide a wide range of knowledge and skills, and have valuable connections within the hunting, conservation, tourism, farming, forestry, community, kaitiakitanga (guardianship) and scientific sectors. Councillors are not appointed to represent any affiliated bodies but instead represent the sector as a whole.

Any person or organisation can make a nomination using this online form. Nominations close at 5pm, Tuesday 28 February 2023.
