Beekeepers and apiculture industry delegates from across New Zealand will swarm to Rotorua from 24 – 26 June 2021 for the annual Apiculture New Zealand Conference and Trade Exhibition.
With the theme, ‘Healthy Bees, Healthy Industry, Healthy Future’, Conference 2021 will look at key challenges facing bee health and the future of the industry.
Conference 2021 will feature presentations from international and local experts, as well as practical seminars on issues such as treatments for varroa, managing pesticide risks, climate change, protecting the term mānuka honey and the trends in the global honey market.
A highlight of conference is the National Honey Competition, when the best honeys in the country are named. Successes in innovation, sustainability, research and photography in the apiculture industry will also be celebrated at the conference.
Attendance is free for media, and this year the Conference Committee is also offering media travel grants to two journalists/podcasters/content producers interested in attending this event.
