Rhythm and Vines will be directing all future fundraising efforts towards the Gisborne Flood Relief.
“Now more than ever, our hometown needs support to recover from the devastating floods of Summer 2022/2023,” organisers said in a statement.
Short term, the Waiohika homestead and Rhythm & Vines festival facilities (portaloos etc) at Waiohika Estate have been readily made available for emergency services dealing with the floods and recovery efforts. The festival plans on committing to a number of other initiatives.
Fundraising efforts have begun with the festival launching a Rhythm and Vines raffle, whereby $15,000 worth of tickets and prizes are available to win for those who donate or purchase the $20 Raffle tickets.
All money raised will go towards The Disaster Relief Trust. This is a registered charity, administered by Gisborne District Council, which means every cent goes to the welfare of those recovering from storm events in this region.
