Update from the Canterbury floods

September 14, 2021 by Rebecca Flannery

We are now at day 106 after the 2021 Canterbury floods, and even though his own farm was ravaged by floodwater in the May 30th floods, Federated Farmers board member Chris Allen still managed to document the journey via a series of short videos. We have put them all together in a short video that shows the damage, but also the huge progress (one step at a time, but progress nonetheless). Huge thanks to all who’ve helped. Our Mid-Canterbury President David Clark, the Farmy Army, Rural Support Trust, Lincoln students, Meat The Need, Chch City Mission, Rural Women, Mayfield Lions, Taskforce Green, Chch Tramping Club, SVA, locals, MPI, and all the media, that showed genuine concern and graciousness towards our rural communities. Watch it here.
